Like many people I grew up on this version of the classic story, and like many people, every year at Halloween I dig out the vhs tape. Then I whip up a batch of Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies and Hot Apple Cider and return to Sleepy Hollow. The movie is old fashioned but I still watch it every year without fail. Why? Because despite the fact that this is a low budget production, it works and works wonderfully. It's funny, spooky, and just all around enjoyable. Goldblum's lanky, idiosyncratic Crane is perfect, and despite the fact the cast is made up of not-exactly-A-list actors (not to mention one football player). Meg Foster makes it more enjoyable with her version of Katrina. They all fit their parts, and manage to work up enough chemisty to overcome every weakness to be found. Now maybe you have to grow up on this like I did, but I think a lot of people will enjoy this version, especially kids.
